Unable to assemble a competitive squad amid global travel restrictions, New Zealand Football has been forced to pull the pin on next month’s international between the All Whites and world No. 1 Belgium.
The All Whites were provisionally scheduled to play the Red Devils in Brussels on October 9.
At this stage, the game against world No. 4 England in London on November 13 is still going ahead as planned.
Coach Danny Hay revealed last week that he would be forced to select a predominantly European-based squad due to the unavailability of players in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and the United States, denying the All Whites access to a host of frontline players, particularly defenders in the centre-back and right-back positions.
MORE TO COME.
