Armed police at motel after firearm threat

Armed police were seen outside a Christchurch motel after someone was allegedly threatened with a firearm.

A police spokeswoman said police responded to the firearm threat at the Bush Inn Court Motel in Sockburn about 10.20am on Sunday, and a man was taken into custody.

A video taken by an eyewitness showed at least four armed police officers outside the motel.

An employee from the motel said police inquired about a guest who had been staying at the motel for about a month, then spoke to him outside in the parking lot.
