Bob “the Bike Man” Charland, helps the homeless keep secure this winter.
Monday morning, he’ll be joined by state police at his store in Springfield, to load up backpacks filled with hats, gloves, coats, scarves, boots, sleeping luggage, and extra, to take all the way down to homeless folks in Hartford.
Serving to out throughout state strains is not new for Bob. He first teamed up with Connecticut state police to donate first responder winter luggage in December 2017.
Charland first earned his nickname of “Bob the Bike Man” by donating a whole lot of bikes to kids and households who want them most.
He suffers from a degenerative mind illness, and says he desires to make use of his time to assist others.
