Automotive thieves goal autos left operating on South Aspect: police


Police are warning residents on the South Aspect to remain alert after a collection of auto thefts in February and March.

In every occasion, the suspect took the automobile whereas it was left unattended with the engine operating. The incidents befell within the Brighton Park and Grand Boulevard areas, and within the Again of the Yards neighborhood.

The thefts occurred at:

  • 12:10 p.m. Feb. 28 within the 3900 block of South Kedzie Avenue;
  • 1:30 p.m. March 5 within the 4300 block of South Western Avenue;
  • 9:40 p.m. March 5 within the 4400 block of South Hermitage Avenue;
  • four:30 p.m. March 13 within the 4400 block of South Richmond Road;
  • 9 p.m. March 17 within the 4200 block of South Archer Avenue; and
  • 1:47 a.m. March 21 within the 200 block of West 47th Road.

Police didn’t present an outline of the suspect, and so they advise residents to not go away keys in autos or go away the automobile unattended whereas it’s operating.
