A canine has been discovered swimming greater than 220 kilometres from shore by staff on an oil rig within the Gulf of Thailand.
A employee on the rig belonging to Chevron Thailand Exploration and Manufacturing, Vitisak Payalaw, mentioned on his Fb web page the canine was sighted final Friday swimming in the direction of the platform.
The crew managed to rescue the canine by placing a rope round its neck and hauling it up.
He mentioned the crew speculated it may need fallen off a fishing trawler, and dubbed him Boon Rod, or “Survivor”.
The canine was returned safely to land, touchdown on Monday on the southern port of Songkhla, and was declared in good condition after being delivered to the animal safety group Watchdog Thailand.
