Ottawa Fire Services said there were reported “non-critical” injuries among firefighters after crews battled a blaze in Sandy Hill that left seven people homeless early Friday morning.

Two OC Transpo buses were brought in for firefighters working to extinguish the flames in already high temperatures and to shelter the displaced residents.

“Firefighters are heavily involved in suppression activities, while dealing with extreme heat conditions,” Ottawa Fire Services said at about 4:40 a.m.
