GENEVA (AP) — Swiss police say they’ve detained a German man in reference to a backpack crammed with faux pipe bombs discovered close to the route of a big techno music parade in Zurich on Saturday.
Zurich cantonal (state) police stated Monday that the 31-year-old suspect, who lives in Switzerland, was the alleged proprietor of the backpack.
The suspect, whose identify wasn’t launched, was detained late Sunday at his dwelling within the neighboring canton of Aargau. A 35-year-old Swiss man who was initially held within the case has been launched.
Police stated investigators are nonetheless attempting to find out what motive the suspect may need had for constructing the faux bombs and leaving the bag near the Road Parade occasion, however famous that “no ideological background” has been discovered.
