A busy night at the NRL Judiciary will see Titans skipper Kevin Proctor fight to save his season over a biting charge on Sharks playmaker Shaun Johnson.

Meanwhile Storm prop Jesse Bromwich was found guilty of his dangerous contact charge from an incident involving Roosters winger Matt Ikuvalu and will miss the clash with the Eels in Round 15.

NRL 360: Storm coach Craig Bellamy tells NRL360 he’s surprised by the Kevin Proctor biting incident and believes Proctor when he says he didn’t do it. Bellamy coached Proctor at the Storm for eight years.

Dragons forward Tyrell Fuimaono has pleaded guilty but disputed the grading of a dangerous contact charge on Eels prop Junior Paulo.

A key part of Kevin Proctor’s defence could be his victim, who has agreed to appear on video link.

“The Titans representative Tim Fuller has a few avenues that he could explore when it comes to defence argument and strategy,” Hannah Hollis said.

“Perhaps the most effective one will be hearing from the victim himself. Shaun Johnson has agreed to appear on video link and we do expect him to completely defend his Kiwis teammate and admit that on reflection Proctor didn’t bite him.

“There is also a doctor’s report that outlines Proctor’s chronic sinus condition and so he may have been acting in self defence.”
