Laurie-Anne Kempton, chief of staff to the Clerk and the deputy clerk of the Privy Council at Privy Council Office, will take over the job of assistant deputy minister for public affairs at the Department of National Defence.

The assistant deputy minister for public affairs provides communications advice, guidance, services and products in support of the government and its defence priorities, according to the DND website.

Kempton replaces Joe de Mora, who was acting ADM public affairs. De Mora assumed the role in December 2019 after Chris Henderson left the job of ADM public affairs.
