Police received complaints that a man had been exposing himself to women at Park Island Reserve in Napier.

A man who allegedly exposed himself to women in  Napier on five separate occasions has been remanded in custody.

The man, in his 20s, was granted interim name suppression when he appeared in Napier District Court on Wednesday.

He was arrested last week after police received complaints that he had been exposing himself to women in Napier.

He  is charged with doing an indecent act in Park Island Reserve on January 22, February 10, February 18 and twice on February 11.

Park Island is Napier’s largest sports reserve and is home to several sports clubs. There is also a trail and a walkway network. 

He also faces a charge of breaching a protection order on February 5.

He was remanded in custody without plea and will appear again next month.

Police encouraged women who had had a similar experience to speak with them.
