Morgan brothers looking to put on a show at home track

Stablemate gelding Pat’s Nipper, a former Highway winner who has a strong home track record, also resumes off two trials. However will face a strong challenge from seven-year-old Beauty Best who was a smart trial winner and sound first-up performer from the Mel O’Gorman yard. Pat’s Nipper also faces from family rivalry, with Cody’s younger brother Luke Morgan training General Scarlet which is well into his prep and unbeaten on this track, but will have to overcome a wide draw.

It all might be the start of a big finish for Cody Morgan who saddles up a three-prong fresh attack in the last – Class 3 Hcp over 1000m – with Whitely, Screen Shot and Purton all resuming.

Earlier on the card, punters will be hoping promising four-year-old Scone gelding Free Rider can erase a painstaking start to this prep when poor starts all but cost him two straight wins at home, and he looks beautifully placed from a low draw stepping up to 1200m in a Maiden Plate.
