Officers from District E-13 Return Stolen Bike to Grateful 13-yr-old Victim After Being Robbed by a Chronic Juvenile Offender Facing his 4th Arrest in 4 Months for Robberies in Jamaica Plain — bpdnews.com


ARMED ROBBERY ARREST: At about 1:56 PM, on Friday, April 10, 2020, members of the District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) Drug Control Unit made an onsite arrest in the area of 78 Mozart Street in Jamaica Plain. Officers observed a young male riding on a red and black bicycle in the area of Centre and Mozart Streets. Officers approached the male due to recent reports of robberies including an incident in which a red and black bicycle had been stolen from a 13-year-old victim in the area of 301 Centre Street. Officers recognized the male on the bicycle from a prior incident in which he was arrested for Armed Robbery. Upon speaking to the male, officers learned he had an active warrant for Armed Robbery out of Suffolk County Juvenile Court. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody. The stolen bicycle was returned to the mother of the juvenile victim.

Officers arrested a 14-year-old male of Jamaica Plain who is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court for Receiving Stolen Property.

The suspect was identified and arrested in three prior robberies in the Jamaica Plain area. The facts of the incidents are as follows:

(1) At about 9:15 AM, on Sunday, January 19, 2020, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a robbery report in the area of 261 Walnut Avenue in Roxbury. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated he had been robbed in the area of 34 Marcella Street. The victim stated he was walking from the Jackson Square MBTA Station when he was approached by four males, one of whom was brandishing a knife. The male with the knife stated he was watching the victim withdraw money from a nearby ATM. The male demanded the victim’s money, to which he complied. The suspects then fled the area toward the Academy Homes Housing Development. The victim called the police a short time later and stated he observed the suspects inside of 304 Centre Street, but when officers arrived, the suspects had fled. Following an investigation by District E-13 Detectives, the suspect who brandished the knife and threatened the victim was positively identified as the 14-year-old suspect of Jamaica Plain. The male was taken into custody on Saturday, February 8, 2020 on three separate warrants for charges including Armed Robbery, Unarmed Robbery, Assault and Battery, Armed Robbery, and Trespassing.

(2) At about 5:42 PM, on Monday, January 20, 2020, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress in the area of 3 Sunnyside Street in Jamaica Plain. On arrival officers spoke to the victim who stated a group of black teenage males had robbed him. The victim stated he was walking from Jackson Square MBTA Station when he observed the group of males. The victim stated the group followed him down Sunnyside Street. The victim stated he was in front of 3 Sunnyside Street when he was struck in the back of the head and threatened by the males, two of whom were wearing a mask. The victim stated he handed over his cash to the males who fled onto Centre Street toward Jackson Square. The victim provided a description of the males, one of whom was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a distinctive red lining. Additional officers arrived at the scene and observed six black males inside of 304 Centre Street. The males were positively identified and taken into custody.  Officers arrested six males including the 14-year-old suspect who was charged with Unarmed Robbery and Assault and Battery.

(3) At about 6:32 PM, on Friday, March 27, 2020, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in progress in the area of 124 Minden Street in Jamaica Plain. On arrival, officers spoke to the two victims who stated they were approached by two young males who demanded their wallets. The victims stated one of the males indicated he was in possession of a firearm, by holding the apparent gun inside of his hooded sweatshirt. The males stated they began walking away from the two suspects when the male who indicated he was carrying the firearm stated he was going to shoot up the victims’ residences. Officers searched the area for the suspects and eventually located two individuals who matched the description of the suspects in the area of 65 Walden Street. The two males were positively identified and taken into custody. Officers located a laptop inside of one of the suspect’s hoodie. Officers arrested the 14-year-old male of Jamaica Plain who was charged with Intent to Rob while Armed.
