Police appeal for information after man dies in hit-and-run collision, NSW Police say

Police are appealing for information after a man died following a hit-and-run in Sydney’s northern beaches on Saturday morning.

At about 5.45am on Saturday, emergency services were called to Oliver Street in Freshwater following reports an injured man was lying on the road.

Paramedics arrived to find the man with head and chest injuries and cuts to his legs and arms. The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition where he died.

He is thought to be in his 50s and is yet to be formally identified.

Initial police investigations suggest the man was hit by a car which failed to stop. They are urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam video of the incident to come forward.
