Police: Edgewater man found dead with “signs of trauma” in apartment refrigerator

Chicago police are conducting a death investigation after a man was found dead inside a refrigerator in his Edgewater apartment Thursday morning, a CPD spokesperson said.

Around 10:45 a.m., fire department personnel and police responded to the victim’s residence on the fifth floor of Hollywood Towers Condominiums, 5701 North Sheridan.

The man’s body was found wrapped in a bedsheet inside the refrigerator, according to officers on the scene. CPD spokesperson Sally Bown said paramedics reported seeing “signs of trauma” on the man’s body, but the cause of death remains under investigation.

A source said the man appeared to have suffered bite wounds, including on his neck.
