Police searching for suspect in coffee shop stabbing

Ottawa police have released photos in the hope of identifying a suspect in a stabbing in the entrance of an Old Ottawa South coffee shop early Thursday morning.

Officers found a 59-year-old man who had just been stabbed in a coffee shop on Bank Street near Ossington Avenue just after 3:40 a.m. The victim had been sleeping when he was stabbed. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male, 25 to 30 years old, six feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous.
