Akaroa’s wastewater treatment plan is open for public feedback for a limited time.

There are four proposed options – one is to continue discharging the wastewater into Akaroa harbour while the other three are to use it to irrigate new areas of native trees at various sites on Banks Peninsula.

Christchurch City Council is calling for public feedback, which closes on Sunday, August 23.

Information on the options can be found on the council’s website as well as a link to make submissions.

Alternatively, brochures can be found at libraries and council service centres. Submissions can be filled out on the back of the brochures and posted to council.

Contact details must be included as anonymous submissions are not permitted.
