UFC boss Dana White befuddled by Kiwi’s fierce haka

Dana White has seen a lot of unusual things as UFC president, but it appears a Māori war dance is not one of them.

At the UFC weigh-ins Kiwi featherweight “Sugar” Shane Young fired up up a rousing haka, as a challenge to Slovakian newcomer Ludovit Klein.

White just stood there with his hand extended, looking completely baffled as Young failed to shake. Young is affiliated with Ngāti Kahungunu.

There was scuffle between Adesanya and his Brazilian opponent Paulo Costa, when Costa taunted him with a ju-jitsu belt.

Young’s opponent missed weight by four pounds. It is likely the fight will go ahead.

A fighter who misses weight usually forfeits 30% of his purse.
