‘Youth riot’ at Moredun as eyewitness claims police automotive hit boy

OFFICERS are in attendance this night at an ongoing incident in Moredun, with one eyewitness claiming police car had hit a younger boy who had been rioting with round two dozen others.

Eight police automobiles and as much as 20 officers arrived on the scene in Moredunvale Highway near the Moredun excessive rise flats round 6.30pm on Monday.

It’s understood police responded to reviews of a youths rioting.

Talking to the Night Information, one eyewitness, who didn’t want to be named, claimed gang of balaclava-clad youths round two dozen robust had been out rioting – some armed with knives.

The eyewitness then claimed police had by chance run over one of many rioters – a younger boy – who was working on the time.

One other eyewitness mentioned that police accompanied by a canine unit recovered what seemed like a t-shirt.

Police Scotland have been contacted for a press release.
